I’ve eaten onion chocolate chip cookies, cocoa mashed potatoes and prune brownies, lapped up jalapeno ice cream and been presented with bacon lollipops. I’ve been paid to taste big blobs of butter, judge sweet potato recipe contests and chocolate competitions, have dipped my spoon into sea urchins in Paris, eaten orange-flavored lentils at a monastery in Greece, and attended a dinner in Japan where chicken feet were on the menu. I’ve had breakfast with Julia Child, brunch with Wolfgang Puck and drinks at dinner with Robert Mondavi.  I’ve been peed on by dairy cows, nipped by a llama, and fell off  my barstool on a Brazilian beach, all in the line of duty. I am a food writer.
